This exciting opportunity is for a highly motivated person to join our expanding Finance team.

Role overview

The role, of reporting to the Group Financial Controller, will sit at the heart of the Group finance function which supports the finance teams in multiple countries

The successful candidate will be working closely with the Group Financial Controller and the regionally based finance functions help ensure global tax compliance requirements are adhered to on a timely basis and to deliver accurate accounting for tax matters.  The role is accountable for delivering a robust tax reporting and control environment and supporting M&A activity to enable the successful growth of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage tax returns, payments, QIPs, track corporation tax liabilities and payments globally, contribute to cash flow planning
  • Corporation tax computations – work with tax advisors (KPMG) to provide all the necessary information they require to complete full-year computations. Review their work and agree on final sign-off and submission to HMRC
  • Manage the VAT return process, submission and payment for the UK VAT groups
  • Oversee employee tax elements – ensure RTI/FPS submissions via payroll match payments for PAYE & NIC
  • Implement and operate transfer pricing strategy for existing Group and assess and recommend options for new acquisitions. Track intercompany charges, loans, dividends and maintain master-file as required by tax authorities
  • Reviewing the internal reporting processes which feed into tax computations, with a view to continuous improvement
  • Liaise with overseas offices to ensure compliance with local regulations.
  • Advise on cash extraction, with the least tax exposure, coordinating tax adviser input from various countries
  • Support the acquisition process with tax structuring advice, due diligence and post-acquisition integration
  • Maintain Corporate Criminal Offences Risk Register relating to tax and ensure mitigating actions undertaken
  • Assist with preparation of statutory accounts – provide trial balance information, tax (capital allowances) detail, tax disclosures, answer queries from auditors
  • Manage the relationship with external tax advisers
  • Managing the relationship with HMRC and leading the response to HMRC or other tax authority enquiries
  • Support the Group Finance function in delivering projects across the group, including but not limited to the implementation of new accounting system, and ad-hoc


High-level behavioural and experience indicators

  • ACCA/ACA/CTA qualified
  • Relevant tax qualification/experience gained from likely a Big4 or Top Ten.
  • Experience of corporation tax within an international organisation
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines delivering consistent and accurate information
  • Has a continuous improvement mindset – aiming to resolve any issues with prior deliverables and build on quality each time the task is repeated
