Environmental Inspector (Dublin)

This role is based in the Greater Dublin area.

Overview of the role:

The Environmental Inspector will assist with the provision the Trade Effluent Licencing & Inspection Services (TELIS) to an existing client. This is a field-based operational role working remotely with accountability for the delivery of key aspects of the TELIS throughout the greater Dublin area and surrounding counties, therefore the ability to travel and manage a flexible workload is essential.

Role Requirements & Responsibilities:

Reporting to the TELIS Programme Manager, the Environmental Inspector will be instrumental in the successful delivery and execution of all aspects of the TELIS service to:

  • Accurately record the outcome of audits/complaint investigations and update data management systems.
  • Plan and carryout compliance inspections in line with legislation and regulations governing Trade Effluent Discharge Licences auditing food service establishments for their management of fats, oils and greases (FOG).
  • Preparation of technical reports on non-compliances and suspected breaches of the legislation with an emphasis on timeliness, quality and accuracy.
  • Developing and maintaining productive working relationships with the client and their stakeholders.
  • Review and interpret technical literature such as legislation, guidance & policy documents, and research papers keeping up to date on industry best practices and innovations.
  • Supporting your line manager to develop and maintain project/work plans including executing operational goals to ensure KPIs are achieved.
  • Other duties including assignment to other sections within the company as may be required from time to time.

Qualifications & Experience Required:

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively, independently and in a team environment
  • Fluent in written and oral English with strong communication skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Full clean driver’s licence (min category B)
  • Good standard of education
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office

Desirable Qualifications & Experience:

  • Qualification in Environmental Sciences, Engineering, or similar
  • Knowledge of Trade Effluent Discharge Licencing
  • Knowledge of environmental policy and environmental legislation
  • Experience in a similar role
  • Compliance and/or regulatory experience
  • Technical report writing
