Who are we looking for?

The Data Engineer plays a pivotal role in enabling data-driven decision-making within the company. By providing crucial data services and insights, they directly contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of financial planning and auditing processes.

Job Purpose

To provide critical data services and Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) capabilities primarily to the Financial Planning and Audit (FP&A) team. The Data Engineer is responsible for the collection, transformation, and delivery of data from various business sources using tools like Azure Data Factory and Python. This role involves close collaboration with both the FP&A team and internal development teams to ensure optimal data structure and reporting efficiency.

Accountabilities

Data Collection and Transformation

  • Utilise Azure Data Factory and Python to extract data from various sources such as the company’s ERP database and SaaS software databases.
  • Implement and manage ETL processes to ensure accurate and timely data availability for business analysis and decision-making.

Reporting and Analysis

  • Deliver processed data to internal stakeholders, particularly the FP&A team, to facilitate informed business decisions.
  • Work closely with the FP&A team to understand their data requirements and tailor data delivery to meet these needs.

Collaboration and Feedback

  • Collaborate with internal development teams to provide feedback on data structures, aiming to enhance reporting capabilities and data integrity.
  • Contribute to the development of new data models and architecture to support evolving business needs.

Maintenance and Development

  • Maintain and optimise existing Azure Data Factory pipelines, ensuring their reliability and performance.
  • Continuously develop and implement new data services within Azure Data Factory to meet the growing data demands of the business.
