Following the successful acquisition and integration of QA International into the Amtivo group, the business has appointed Alan Carter, ex-Managing Director of QA International, to the role of Strategic Adviser.

Having started his career in the Royal Military Police, Alan has held senior appointments in Construction, FMCG, Food, Petrochemical, Nuclear and Defence Industries. He then created QA International, which he led for 30 years and grew into an international organisation, employing over 800 people, worldwide.

His past board-level experience in governance, compliance and strategic management across royal charter organisations, public and private companies and global audit of corporate management systems has resulted in him consulting for the likes of the Ministry of Defence on privatisation, the AWRE on electrical engineering and a multinational Plc on marketing, health & safety and fraud prevention. Alan was also registered by Salford University Business School as a business diagnostic advisor (Company Doctor) serving companies in all sectors across the UK for Business Link.

This new role will enable the Group to leverage Alan’s varied and specialist experience in support of new market developments, exploring key strategic opportunities across the industry and be available as an experienced ‘sounding board’ for strategic developments across the group.

Commenting on the appointment group CEO, Mike Tims, said “During the negotiations to acquire QA International we were impressed with Alan’s industry knowledge and strategic insights. It soon became clear that he would be able to continue adding value beyond the completion of the original deal and therefore I am delighted to welcome him to the team.”
